The World Rapid Chess Championship among schoolchildren has ended in Tashkent. For the first time in the history of Kyrgyzstan, young Kyrgyzstani became vice-champion at this tournament. Executive Director of the Kyrgyz Chess Federation Damir Talapker told 24.kg news agency.
Kyrgyzstan was represented by 15 schoolchildren from five age groups.
«Kyrgyzstan took a prize place in this type of chess for the first time. In general, in all types of chess, our people have taken prize places only a few times in the entire history of the republic,» former Prosecutor General Aida Salyanova commented on her daughter’s achievements.
Alika Baktybek kyzy became the champion of the Kyrgyz Republic in chess among boys and girls (6-18 years old) in 2022. She repeated this success in 2023 and became the national champion twice.
