The President of Kyrgyzstan congratulated the Kyrgyz boxer Munarbek Seyitbek uulu on the bronze medal he won at the World Championship. Sadyr Japarov posted a congratulatory post on Facebook.
According to him, this is the first prize-winning place for Kyrgyzstan at the World Boxing Championship.
The head of state believes that this is a sign of the revival of the Kyrgyz school of boxing. «I won’t be mistaken if I say that this is a sign of the revival of the famous Kyrgyz Soviet boxing school,» he wrote.
Sadyr Japarov added that the success of Munarbek Seyitbek uulu will be an incentive for young athletes and a great pride for sports fans.
Recall, the Kyrgyz boxer won a medal at the World Championship for the first time in history. In the weight category up to 57 kilograms, he started from the 1/32 final stage, defeated athletes from Puerto Rico, Thailand, Mexico and Tajikistan. He competed with an athlete from Uzbekistan Abdumalik Khalokov to get into the final. The Kyrgyzstani lost and won a bronze medal.
