Speaker of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Talant Mamytov met with Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of Russia Vyacheslav Volodin. Press service of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan reported.

A wide range of issues was discussed in key areas of cooperation. Talant Mamytov emphasized that Kyrgyzstan has always been and remains a reliable partner of Russia based on trust and long-term friendship. He also noted the high level of inter-parliamentary relations between Kyrgyzstan and Russia and the desire of the Kyrgyz side to maintain and increase the achieved dynamics of interaction both at the bilateral level and in the format of inter-parliamentary organizations.

«Election campaigns have been successfully completed in our countries and new compositions of the Parliament and the State Duma have been formed in 2021. With this in mind, I propose to organize meetings of the relevant committees of our Parliaments in Russia in 2022, as well as the tenth meeting of the Kyrgyz-Russian Inter-Parliamentary Commission in Kyrgyzstan,» Talant Mamytov suggested and invited Vyacheslav Volodin to pay an official visit to the republic.

In turn, Viacheslav Volodin agreed with the opinion on the need to increase cooperation between the relevant committees of the Parliaments of the two countries and supported the proposal of his colleague.

The parties paid special attention to the development of Eurasian integration and participation in the EAEU, building up trade and economic relations, cultural and humanitarian cooperation. In addition, the speaker outlined issues related to the legal status of Kyrgyz migrants in Russia in connection with the new federal law dated December 29, 2021 on the rules for mandatory medical examination of migrants. Talant Mamytov noted that during the period of adaptation of the new law, the Russian side could revise the rules for labor migrants from Kyrgyzstan, taking into account the membership of the Kyrgyz Republic in the EAEU.

«We would like to ask the Russian side to consider in the future the feasibility of establishing a Russian migration center in Kyrgyzstan with the support of the Kyrgyz side, which will assist in finding employment, ensuring that citizens of Kyrgyzstan go through the necessary procedures in advance before entering the territory of Russia,» Talant Mamytov said.

Viacheslav Volodin added that the issue would be worked out and sent to the government of Russia.
