At least 1,505 Kyrgyzstanis voted abroad in the elections of deputies of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan as of 13.00. Press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry reported.
Elections continue at 55 polling stations abroad. «Voting will begin later at polling stations in the UK (London) and the USA (Washington, New York, Chicago),» the ministry noted.
The ministry added that voting at all polling stations is taking place in compliance with all the necessary sanitary and epidemiological standards.
At least 59 polling stations operate abroad. Some 84,128 people are included in the voters’ list. This is 2.5 times more than in the 2020 elections.
Deputies of the seventh convocation of Parliament are elected in Kyrgyzstan today. The electoral system was changed in the country, so there will be 90 deputies instead of 120. As a result, 54 deputies of the Parliament will be elected according to the proportional system (open lists of candidates of political parties) in the single electoral district, 36 deputies — according to the majority system in single-mandate constituencies.
