Military conscription starts in Kyrgyzstan

Conscription into the armed forces began in Kyrgyzstan. The State Committee for Defense Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

It is noted that all citizens at the drafting age (from 18 to 25 years), who do not have the right to defer or be relieved of conscription, are obliged to come to military commissariats at the place of residence for passage of the conscription commission.

First of all, the Armed Forces will call on citizens at senior drafting age (20 years and over), who graduated from higher education institutions and have higher, secondary technical and secondary specialized education, as well as various specialties required by the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Recruitment of conscripts is carried out both on a territorial basis (conscripts are drafted into military units located in the residence area) and extraterritorial (conscripts are drafted into military units located outside the area of residence) principles.

«To improve the quality of the recruited contingent, the level of physical development of the conscripts will be checked, including tests to determine their moral and business qualities, which will result in decisions on each conscript,» the committee said.

The military conscription will last until early November 2018.
