UAE - Issyk-Kul flights: Sharjah and Tamchy may be connected directly

Kyrgyzstan continues to strengthen its position on the international tourism map. During a meeting between Manasbek Samidinov, Chairman of the Board of Airports of Kyrgyzstan OJSC, and a delegation from the United Arab Emirates, they discussed the prospects for expanding air service between Kyrgyzstan and the UAE and new opportunities for developing the country’s tourism potential.

One of the key topics of the talks was the launch of a direct flight between Sharjah and Issyk-Kul (Tamchy village) for the 2026 summer tourist season. According to the company’s press service, the parties are currently working on the flight program, including the start date and frequency.

The opening of this new route is expected to significantly increase tourist flow from the Persian Gulf countries to Issyk-Kul Lake. Kyrgyzstan’s natural beauty, mountain resorts, national culture, and outdoor recreation opportunities will become even more accessible to guests from the UAE and other countries in the region.

Negotiations are underway to launch a direct flight from Sharjah to Karakol for the 2026-2027 winter tourism season.

This new flight could be an important step in promoting Kyrgyzstan’s ski tourism internationally and open up additional opportunities for attracting foreign tourists to Issyk-Kul in winter.

Today, international airlines’ interest in Kyrgyzstan continues to grow. The development of airport infrastructure, the modernization of the country’s airports, and the expansion of the route network are creating new opportunities for tourists, businesses, and the strengthening of international ties.
