Residents of Ala-Buka district of Jalal-Abad region yesterday held a rally against the development of Ishtamberdy field. The head of the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use Ulan Ryskulov told journalists.
About 300 residents came to the rally. They believe that the Chinese company Full Gold Mining works illegally at the mine, and they demand to check the damage to the environment, pay compensation to the local residents, impose a ban on the use of harmful substances and move the tailings to another place.
The plenipotentiary representative of the government in Jalal-Abad region Kiyanbek Satybaldiev met with protesters.
«I and the experts of the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use will go to Jalal-Abad region today to meet with the residents of Ala-Buka district, who oppose the development of Ishtamberdy,» Ulanbek Ryskulov said.
