Bishkek-Osh road closed due to snowfall

Bishkek-Osh road is temporarily closed. Press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

Such measures were reportedly taken in connection with unstable weather.

«Large traffic jams formed on Bishkek — Osh highway. To avoid traffic accidents and human deaths, a decision was made to restrict passage of cars at Sosnovka post in Zhayil district, as well as at posts located in Toktogul district and Kara-Kul town of Jalal-Abad region,» the ministry informed.

In addition, the Ministry of Emergency Situations warns about forced descent of avalanches in mountain areas of Bishkek —Osh highway. «The roads are icy. Visibility is about 500 meters,» the ministry added.
