Temir Sariev about border situation: consequences to be in spring

«After the elections we hoped to get stability in terms of politics, economy and investment situation. But the opposite occurred,» ex-Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Temir Sariev said today at a round table discussion in 24.kg news agency.

«We got a very big problem, which today must be solved by the government and the president. Today, business suffers, trade is declining, and farmers also suffer. Many people now earn for living thanks to the wheels. One sells a ton of potatoes today, will buy food tomorrow and buy everything for school for a son and so on. Because the savings of citizens are small,» he said.

«Plus, there is spoilage of goods. The worst thing is that the consequences will be in the spring. In addition, migrants have already begun to suffer. We receive serious signals from Kazakhstan. There is also an initiative among Russian deputies, which can create problems with driving licenses. The collection of taxes is declining, we are losing markets. The problem cluster is very large and it is necessary to solve them,» Temir Sariev noted.

Recall, since October 10, Kazakhstan has strengthened control on the sections of the Kazakh-Kyrgyz and Kazakh-Russian border. There are queues from heavy trucks leaving Kyrgyzstan at the checkpoints.

Today it became known that delivery of coal from Kazakhstan to the Bishkek Heating and Power Plant was resumed. Six carriages arrived the day before, this morning — nine more. Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Duishenbek Zilaliev informed about this at the session of the Parliament.
