Bishkek to host festive events on Victory Day

A number of festive events will be held on occasion of the Victory Day in Bishkek. Press service of the Bishkek mayor’s office reported.

Motor rally in honor of the Victory Day will start on May 5 at 4.00 pm from the Victory Square.

«Immortal Regiment» march will be held on May 9 with the participation of veterans of the Great Patriotic War and residents of the capital. The procession will march along Baitik Baatyr Street — from the Southern highway to Victory Square, where it ends with a meeting requiem, the press service said.

At 10.00 am, the Victory Square will host a meeting requiem with the laying of flowers to the Eternal Flame. At 10.45, there will be a distribution of soldier’s porridge for 2,000 people and a concert program.

From 10.00 till 4.00 pm, the citizens and motorists will organize a motor rally dedicated to the holiday. About 50 cars will move along the route: VDNKh — Aitmatov and Zhibek Zholu Avenues — Alma-Ata Street — Southern highway — Abdrakhmanova Street — Bishkek boarding house for the elderly on Abay Street. A festive dinner will be organized there.

At 9.00 pm, Bishkek residents and guests of the capital will be able to watch fireworks on the Old Square and in front of the Historical Museum.

Festive events will be organized also in the districts of Bishkek.
