Court finds detention of three marchers in Bishkek legal

The court found legal detention of three participants of the march in support of freedom of speech, held on March 18 in Bishkek. The civil activist Mavlyan Askarbekov informed 24.kg news agency.

According to him, the Bishkek City Court upheld the decision of Sverdlovsk District Court against Rasul Umbetaliev, Azamat Attokurov and Mukhit Mamytov. «The court found that there was no conclusive evidence that their detention was conducted in violation of the norms of the law. Hearing of my lawsuit and the lawsuit of Aibek Myrza will be held tomorrow," Mavlyan Askarbekov said.

The lawyer representing the interests of march’s activists, Timur Sultanov, appealed against the decision of the Sverdlovsk District Court on March 24. He explained that his clients considered their detention as unreasonable, and conditions of detention in the perception center — inhuman.
