The youth team of Ilbirs Football Club (Kyrgyzstan) took part in the international MADCUP tournament, which was held in Spain.
Before the competition, the team completed a full training camp in El Puerto.
The tournament, held from June 19 to 24, attracted over 800 teams from over 40 countries, becoming one of the largest youth football tournaments in Europe. Matches were held at stadiums and football centers in Madrid region.
In the third-place match, the Ilbirs team faced the main squad of Atlético Madrid and lost 3-1.
As Aziz Abdyldaev, Technical Director of Ilbirs Football Club, noted, the team had completed a serious preparation phase and represented Kyrgyzstan with dignity on the international stage.
Based on the tournament results, Ilbirs took fourth place.
This was Kyrgyzstan’s first participation in the MADCUP tournament.
MADCUP is one of the largest international youth football tournaments, held in Spain and annually bringing together teams from around the world, including professional club academies and the strongest youth schools. The tournament is held in Madrid region and is considered an important platform for the development of young footballers.
