Citizens of Kyrgyzstan are asked to refrain from traveling to UK due to riots

Citizens of Kyrgyzstan are asked to refrain from traveling to a number of cities in the UK. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

It is specified that due to the aggravation of the situation in a number of regions of the Kingdom, the Embassy recommends citizens of Kyrgyzstan to temporarily refrain from visiting Rotherham, Bolton, Blackpool, Hull, Bristol, Stoke-on-Trent, Belfast, as well as the suburbs of Manchester and Liverpool until the situation stabilizes.

Citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, who are currently staying in these regions, should observe increased security measures, be vigilant and careful, refrain from visiting places of mass gathering of people and follow the latest news.

The Embassy’s emergency phone number is +44 7341 185777 (WhatsApp).

Riots broke out a week ago in the town of Southport near Liverpool following the murder of three girls at a children’s dance club. The protests spread to other cities in Britain.

Despite initially small numbers and condemnation of the violence by all political parties, the geography of the clashes expanded dramatically late last week. Many politicians called what happened pogroms, and some called on the Prime Minister to send troops to particularly dangerous areas.
