The State Secretary of the Kyrgyz Republic Suyunbek Kasmambetov met with the First Deputy Chairman of the State Assembly (Il Tumen) of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) of the Russian Federation, Vice President of the International Association «Epos of the Peoples of the World» Alexander Zhirkov.
During the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues of deepening cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Sakha.
Alexander Zhirkov noted the historical and cultural commonality of the Kyrgyz and Yakut peoples, which are part of a single Altai branch, as well as the important role of the prominent Soviet state and party leader Maxim Ammosov, who stood at the origins of the formation and development of the statehood of Kyrgyzstan and Yakutia, speaking in defense of the national intelligentsia of both republics.
«The highest rise and the biggest tragedy of Maxim Ammosov are connected with Kyrgyzstan,» he said.
Alexander Zhirkov noted that it was planned to celebrate important historical events this year: the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Sakha and the 125th anniversary of the birth of Maxim Ammosov, in connection with which, on behalf of the leadership of the Republic of Sakha, he invited an official delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic to visit the Republic of Sakha.
In turn, Suyunbek Kasmambetov emphasized the interest of the Kyrgyz side in the further development of cultural, humanitarian and other ties between Kyrgyzstan and Yakutia, and also expressed his readiness to take part in the events planned this year both on the territory of the Republic of Sakha and in Kyrgyzstan.
Other issues of active bilateral partnership were also discussed.
At the end of the meeting, Alexander Zhirkov was commended on behalf of the President Sadyr Japarov for his significant contribution to the development of bilateral cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
It should be noted that Alexander Zhirkov translated a short version of the Manas epic into the Yakut language.
