«Contrary to the statement attributed to the Prime Minister Japarov, no active negotiations with Centerra Gold Inc. are conducted,» the Canadian company told 24.kg news agency.
It is noted that the Kyrgyzstan’s authorities did not show readiness for a meaningful dialogue.
«Centerra is still open to an agreed settlement of this dispute, reflecting the fair value of Kumtor and compensation for other damage caused by the illegal takeover of the mine by the government and other actions,» the Canadian company said.
In an interview with the Russian Kommersant newspaper, the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov announced active negotiations with Centerra Gold Inc.
