Main streets of Bishkek will be landscaped for the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which will be held in the capital in June 2019. With the opening of the spring season, Bishkekzelenkhoz municipal enterprise is landscaping the streets of the city. Press service of the Bishkek City Administration reported.
Employees of the enterprise restore green areas along the roads, carry out sanitary pruning of trees, plant shrubs and restore lawns. Grass is also planted in areas where illegal parking lots, trade pavilions and stalls were previously located.
«As of today, the municipal service has carried out sanitary pruning of more than 1,800 trees, planted 7,220 hedge saplings along the central streets, and sowed over 6,400 square meters of lawn. The enterprise’s plans include landscaping and improvement of some objects at the intersections of busy streets with the use of small architectural forms,» the city administration noted.
In addition, as part of a three-month voluntary clean-up, employees of Bishkekzelenkhoz together with active citizens in two weeks planted about 2,000 trees along the streets, in parks and on two boulevards.
Work on restoration and improvement of recreation areas and creation of mini parks in the capital started on March 25. By the end of the year, landscaping of 11 recreation areas and reconstruction of the green part of Molodaya Gvardiya and Erkindik Boulevards are planned.
Annual flowers from greenhouse facilities of Bishkekzelenkhoz are also being prepared for planting. This year the service plans to plant 2,148,403 annual flowers.
