According to Bishkekzelenkhoz municipal enterprise, 7,220 trees, 2,779 shrubs, 2 million annual flowers will be planted in 2019. This was reported at a meeting in the Bishkek City Administration.
Mayor of Bishkek Aziz Surakmatov asked the head of Bishkekzelenkhoz Elnura Zholdoshova to voice the cost of saplings. According to her, saplings are purchased from local nurseries, their price does not exceed 1,200 soms. Shrubs cost from 100 to 350 soms, each flower grown in a greenhouse — 18-22 soms.
Aziz Surakmatov noted that the same amount of money was allocated for 2019 to the municipal enterprise for landscaping, but the volume should be twice as large. «Compare last year’s plantings and double them. Develop your nurseries,» he said.
