Wrestler Akzhol Makhmudov secured a berth at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. He reached the final of the World Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship.
According to the United World Wrestling website, in the weight category up to 77 kilograms he defeated athletes from Norway, Egypt, Uzbekistan and Japan.
The final will take place on September 22. The Kyrgyzstani’s rival will be Sanan Suleymanov (Azerbaijan).
The World Wrestling Championship is taking place in Serbia. Aisulu Tynybekova and Aiperi Medet kyzy won silver medals at the championship.
