Since January 2023, private companies have been allowed to engage in compulsory home insurance in Kyrgyzstan. The head of the department of the State Insurance Organization, Burul Kalmatova, told 24.kg news agency.
According to her, first they must enter the insurance pool (association of insurance companies) and obtain an appropriate license. The draft regulation on the creation of the pool is being considered in the Cabinet, the document has not yet been signed.
For five years of existence of Kyrgyzgosstrakh, more than 780 people, who timely insured their homes against fires and natural disasters, received payments totaling 73 million soms.
The cost of the insurance certificate depends only on the location of the house: in rural areas — 600 soms per year, urban — 1,200. Kyrgyzgosstrakh has been exclusively engaged in compulsory home insurance since 2016.
