Foreigners detained for illegal crossing of border of Kyrgyzstan

Foreigners were detained in Jalal-Abad region on suspicion of illegal crossing of the state border. They planned to go to the war zone in Syria. Press center of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reports.

According to it, the detainees were hiding in the house of a local resident, who was previously convicted of terrorism. After arriving in Kyrgyzstan, they tried to make Kyrgyz passports with the aim of further travel to the war zone in Syria to join the ranks of international terrorist organizations.

A criminal case was initiated on the fact and an investigation was started. The detainees were placed in the pre-trial detention center of Jalal-Abad. The SCNS did not specify what countries the suspects are from.
