Local residents blocked the road leading to Kara-Keche field in Dzhumgal district, Naryn region of Kyrgyzstan on Sunday.
The protesters told 24.kg news agency that they set up a yurt near Dyikan village. A section of an alternative North — South road will pass through this settlement; road works have already begun there. The villagers are unhappy with the fact that the number of trucks and equipment has increased. They complain that they cannot breathe because of the constant dust. Residents also believe that the number of traffic accidents increased due to the road works.
Local officials and police officers met with the protesters. The villagers opened the road after negotiations. The movement of transport to the field was resumed.
Representatives of local authorities and villagers plan to discuss problems and find ways to solve them today.
