At least 2,412 people live in the residential social service institutions of Kyrgyzstan. The Minister of Labor and Social Development Ulukbek Kochkorov told at a press conference.
According to him, there are 17 such institutions in the ministry system. Most of the people living in them are persons with neuropsychiatric diagnoses (1,664 people).
He noted that a republican rehabilitation center for children with disabilities was being built on the basis of Jalal-Abad and Belovodsk children’s neuropsychiatric centers. All conditions for the rehabilitation of children will be created there.
Ulukbek Kochkorov added that 928 social workers provide assistance at home to more than 10,000 lonely, elderly, disabled people, children and families in difficult life situations.
