Deputies of Bishkek City Council approved at today’s regular session the program of social and economic development of Bishkek for 2017-2020 taking into account comments and proposals.
The document involves development of parks and recreation areas, reform of urban libraries, creation of the city Philharmonic Hall, improvement of embankments, determining of pedestrian streets.
New roads will be built, 110 stop complexes will be improved, the bus fleet will be replenished by 350 units with a phased replacement of minibuses, 50 new trolleybuses will be purchased, long-promised electronic system of non-cash payment for public transport will be introduced.
About 30 billion soms are needed to implement the four-year program. Financing will be made from the local budget; grant and loan funds of international donors; voluntary contribution of initiative groups and public organizations; funds of private investors.
