The night fare on buses in Bishkek will be 70 soms for cashless payment and 90 soms for cash payment. Bekzhan Akmatbekov, deputy director of Tulpar project, told 24.kg news agency.
He said that night buses are expected to be launched in test mode within the next day or two on six routes. The route schemes have already been prepared and are set to be published by the City Hall.
Earlier, it was reported that night buses will run from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. with intervals of around 40 minutes, connecting key districts of the city.
At present, daytime bus fare in Bishkek is 17 soms.
Since July 1, cash payments in public transport in Bishkek have been abolished, a move that eliminated informal earnings for drivers. Passengers unable to pay cashlessly are asked to leave the vehicle. Meanwhile, officials have introduced several free transfers on buses within an hour.
