President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov held a meeting in Cholpon-Ata with Uzbekistan’s Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan on a working visit, the presidential press service reported.
The sides discussed current issues of Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan cooperation, with particular attention to political and economic interaction.
The head of state noted that relations between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan continue to develop dynamically within the framework of their strategic partnership. According to him, the upcoming meeting of the intergovernmental commission will become an important milestone in advancing joint projects and initiatives.
For his part, Abdulla Aripov conveyed greetings to Sadyr Japarov from Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and expressed readiness to further implement agreements reached at the level of the two countries’ leaders.
Following the meeting, the sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in the spirit of good neighborliness and strategic partnership, as well as expanding joint projects aimed at improving the well-being of citizens of both countries and promoting sustainable development in Central Asia.
The 12th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek Intergovernmental Commission on Bilateral Cooperation will be held in Cholpon-Ata on June 23.
