The European Union will allocate €28 million to the project «Restoration of schools in Ukraine». UN website says.

According to it, this money will be used to repair 26 educational institutions in Kharkiv, Chernihiv and Sumy Oblasts. The repairs include the installation of new windows and doors, restoration of the heating system, walls, roofs and classrooms.

In general, the UN Office for Project Services is coordinating the restoration of more than 80 schools damaged during the hostilities.

It is noted that every seventh educational institution in Ukraine was damaged.

«More than 200 schools were completely destroyed, about 1,600 were damaged. In this regard, many regions have switched to online learning, which is complicated by the lack of electricity,» the statement says.
