Organizations in the field of education have the lead in the application of information and communication technologies. The National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan provided such data.
According to the results of the survey conducted in 2021, about 12,000 enterprises, or more than 54 percent, used information and communication technologies (ICT) in their practical activities. The predominant share of enterprises and organizations using ICT was in the field of education — 32 percent, public administration and defense, compulsory social security — 12 percent, wholesale and retail trade, as well as repair of cars and motorcycles — 9 percent.
In 2021, a third of the total number of personal computers were used in companies working in the field of education.
The number of office equipment (scanners, tablets, printers) used by enterprises and educational organizations in 2021 exceeded 22,000, or a quarter of all office equipment used.
«At least 20,000 specialists were employed in the field of information and communication technologies in 2021. Of these, more than 4,000 people (22 percent) worked at organizations in the field of education. The largest share of such specialists in the country was in Bishkek (35.6 percent), and the smallest — in Naryn region (1.2 percent),» the National Statistical Committee said.
