Number of deputy speakers proposed to be increased to four

It is proposed to increase the number of deputy speakers in the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan. A deputy Emil Toktoshev told 24.kg news agency.

According to him, a specially created commission of the seventh convocation of Parliament proposed to approve four positions of deputy speakers in the structure of the Parliament.

«Three or four posts of deputy speakers are proposed. We will decide on the number of deputy speakers. According to MPs, two deputy speakers do not keep up with the expected amount of work,» he said.

A representative of the opposition faction will probably get the post of a deputy speaker. Emil Toktoshev from Butun Kyrgyzstan faction is ready to run for the post.

It should be noted that the sixth convocation of Parliament consisting of 120 deputies had only two deputy speakers, who coped with all the work. There are 90 deputies in the Parliament now, i.e. 30 people less.

In the new structure of parliament, it is proposed to reduce the number of committees to seven.

The Parliament intends to meet today to elect deputy speakers.
