School uniform in Kyrgyzstan remains mandatory

The school uniform in Kyrgyzstan in the new 2017/2018 school year remains mandatory. 24.kg news agency was informed about this in the Ministry of Education and Science.

Note, in social networks there was information about the abolition of uniform requirements for all schoolchildren.

«There was no official decision to cancel the uniform. There are still several options. Usually the school approves only one option, which is chosen together with the parent committee, the general meeting,» the ministry explained.

Decree of the Government on the introduction of uniform requirements for students’ clothes was adopted on August 12, 2015. Schools independently choose the color of the form of the four proposed in the standards (black, blue, gray or burgundy) and a combination of styles. According to the requirements, admixture of not more than three colors is permissible. The form is of a classical nature.

It can have distinctive signs of school and class (emblems, badges, patches). The kit can include a classic tie. Sports, denim, beach and home clothes and shoes are prohibited.

Recall, in 2014, a competition of sketches of the school uniform was announced. The jury selected the best, and the final variant of the form was chosen by the Kyrgyzstanis themselves through sms-voting.
