President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov held a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon today, May 23.
In a friendly atmosphere, the two heads of state discussed current issues of Kyrgyzstan — Tajikistan cooperation, as well as prospects for further strengthening bilateral relations in the spirit of good-neighborliness, mutual understanding, and friendship between the peoples of the two countries. The positive dynamics of Kyrgyzstan — Tajikistan cooperation in key areas were noted with satisfaction.
The heads of state noted the importance of continuing the practical implementation of previously reached interstate agreements and reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further deepening political dialogue, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation.
Continuing their conversation, the heads of state reviewed the schedule of upcoming high-level meetings, including in multilateral formats. Particular attention was paid to the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization Heads of State Summit, which will be held in Bishkek under the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The presidents also exchanged views on specific international and regional issues.
Following the telephone conversation, the heads of state reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Kyrgyzstan — Tajikistan relations based on the principles of mutual respect, trust, and support.
