A new mechanism for settlements between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation in national currency may be needed in the future for entrepreneurs of both countries, he believes.
«From the point of view of the future, we probably need to look for a new mechanism for financial transactions between the two states in rubles and Kyrgyz soms. Such moments are very important for us,» Urmat Takirov said at the opening of the Kyrgyz Republic’s stand at the international exhibition World Food Moscow 2024.
He emphasized that it is profitable for the two countries to trade in national currency. «We have been working for more than 30 years, and there have always been some risks and crises. Our business quickly adapts to any conditions. It was previously reported that in the first five months of 2024, more than 95 percent of settlements between Moscow and Bishkek in foreign trade transactions were made in national currency.
