Unions of Theatre Workers of Russia, Kyrgyzstan sign Memorandum of Cooperation

The Unions of Theatre Workers of Russia and Kyrgyzstan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, the Russian Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic reported on its Telegram channel.

On September 12, the Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Union of Theatre Workers of the Russian Federation and the Union of Theatre Workers of the Kyrgyz Republic in St. Petersburg as part of the 10th International Forum of United Cultures.

The head of the Union of Theatre Workers of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Mashkov, noted that the Kyrgyz Republic is a very creative land.

«When I was very young, my parents worked at the Puppet Theater, and Bishkek was then called Frunze. That’s when I got my first impressions of the theater. And literally two years from now, the 150th anniversary of the Union of Theater Workers will take place. In anticipation of this event, we signed an agreement, and I hope that it will be very useful for us: an exchange of experience, master classes, the best performances will come from Russia to Kyrgyzstan and from Kyrgyzstan to Russia. We are at the beginning of a large and very interesting stage in our lives,» he said.

Earlier that day, a panel discussion «Cultural Sovereignty of the Country. Challenges of the Time: Understanding, Attitude, Reflection» was held at the 10th St. Petersburg International Forum of United Cultures. It was one of the events of the «Theater» section, curated by the Chairman of the Union of Theater Workers of the Russian Federation Vladimir Mashkov and the artistic director of the State Theater of Nations Yevgeny Mironov, the diplomatic mission reported.
