Kyrgyzstan and Egypt are planning to create an Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Egypt with residence in Riyadh Ulukbek Maripov held negotiations with the head of the country’s foreign policy department Sameh Shoukry.

The parties discussed issues of creating a Kyrgyz-Egyptian Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee and holding the first meeting.
An exchange of views took place on issues of bilateral multifaceted interaction, as well as on the prospects for their further expansion. Attention was focused on further intensification of political contacts, strengthening trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian partnerships, the possibility of opening a direct flight and developing bilateral tourism.

Diplomats also noted the importance of mutual support for the candidacies of their states to the elected bodies of the UN. Ulukbek Maripov asked the leadership of Egypt to support the candidacy of Kyrgyzstan for non-permanent members of the UN Security Council for 2027-2028.
