Butun Kyrgyzstan faction proposes to create commission on Madumarov’s case

Butun Kyrgyzstan faction proposes to create a deputy commission in connection with the arrest of its leader. Deputy Emil Toktoshev announced at a press conference.

According to him, the Parliament should assess the legality of the detention and charges of high treason against Adakhan Madumarov.

Gulya Kozhokulova said that the deputies intend to visit the leader of the faction, who is being held in the pre-trial detention center of the State Committee for National Security.

«Lawyers have already protested the measure of restraint. There is a conclusion of doctors about the state of health of the deputy. According to the defenders, there are two more arrested people in the cell where Adakhan Kimsanbayevich is held. He has no special conditions,» she said.

Adakhan Madumarov was charged under the article «Treason» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, he was detained and placed in the pre-trial detention center of the State Committee for National Security on September 2.

Earlier, the Parliament agreed to prosecute deputy Adakhan Madumarov. The case concerns a protocol signed in 2009 in Khujand. Adakhan Madumarov, being the secretary of the Security Council, signed with the Tajik side the minutes of the working meeting of the heads of state bodies of the two countries chaired by the secretaries of the Security Councils. According to the document, the Kyrgyz side leased a plot of land from Tajikistan with an area of 5 hectares and a length of 275 meters for 49 years. The protocol was adopted after negotiations in Khujand. Officials harmonized domestic procedures for signing an intergovernmental agreement to ban economic activity along the state border line until its demarcation and delimitation is completed.
