The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) is developing a draft agreement on the circulation of organic products in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Press service of the EEC reported.
This work is carried out in accordance with the road map for the formation of a single market of organic agricultural products of the Union, approved by the heads of the Eurasian «five» last year.
«Along with the rule-making work, it is very important to pay attention to the promotion of the concept of organic products among consumers and business communities. Formation of people’s brands in the organic sector will contribute to the development of this market, recognition of brands of organic producers. In the future we hope to spread this experience and scale up such campaigns within the EAEU,» Artak Kamalyan, Minister of Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex, said.
The road map for the formation of a single market of organic agricultural products in the EAEU was approved by a decree of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council dated August 20, 2021. The document provides for the preparation of an international treaty aimed at free circulation of organic products within the Union, interaction with specialized international organizations, as well as the development of recommendations for access to premium international markets.
