Kyrgyzstan will host the 5th World Epics Festival in June. Head of the Department of Culture, Art and Vocational Education of the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic Damira Alyshbaeva said at a press conference.
According to her, the festival will consist of two components.
Damira Alyshbaeva added that there are peoples in the world whose epics are known to everyone, but they did not preserve their carriers — narrators. As an example, she cited the Iliad by Homer.
«It would seem that Greece was the birthplace of epics. Today, there are scientists, but no carriers. In Kyrgyzstan, we have managed to preserve them thanks to the efforts of the people and the state,» she said.
Show of nomad costumes and an exhibition-fair of handicraft art will take place within the festival.
