Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kyrgyzstan to Switzerland Omar Sultanov visited SICPA SA.

During the meeting with the company’s management, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of attracting SICPA SA technologies for fuel marking at the molecular level to the Kyrgyz Republic, which will prevent tax evasion and increase state revenues.

The parties also discussed the company’s plans to invest more than $12 million in the implementation of the fuel marking project in the country.

SICPA SA was founded in 1927. Its headquarters are located on the outskirts of Lausanne in the Canton of Vaud. It is engaged in the protection of more than 130 billion banknotes in the world, including in Kyrgyzstan, and has contracts with 40 US states.

SICPA SA is a leading developer of digital solutions to combat smuggling, illegal trafficking and counterfeiting, marking more than 80 billion product items and 60 billion liters of fuel per year.

The Kyrgyz Republic introduced mandatory marking of gasoline and diesel fuel, both imported and produced, using molecular markers, from October 1, 2024.

At the same time, the circulation of unmarked gasoline and diesel fuel will be prohibited from January 1, 2025.
