Kyrgyzstan registers 721 new cases of HIV infection in 2024

At least 721 new cases of HIV infection have been registered in Kyrgyzstan in 2024. The Department of State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance reported.

According to the department, this is more than in the same period last year, when 712 new cases were registered. At the same time, the total number of HIV-infected people remains at the 2023 level.

Bishkek and Osh still have the highest incidence rates.

In May, the rector of Osh State University Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov reported that about 15 students with HIV were studying at the university.
