President Sadyr Japarov’s nephew Ulan Japarov has been placed under house arrest. The press service of the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek confirmed the information to 24.kg news agency.
According to it, the decision was made on August 24. The court granted the petition of the investigator of the Investigative Department of the Main Directorate of the State Committee for National Security for the capital. The previously applied preventive measure in the form of detention was changed to house arrest until September 19.
Recall, the relative of Sadyr Japarov was detained by law enforcement officers a year ago under the article «Corruption» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. He was placed under house arrest four months later.
«Let this be a lesson for the rest of my relatives,» the head of state said to journalists at the time, commenting on the detention of his nephew.
The relative of Sadyr Japarov was detained by the State Committee for National Security in July 2024. This time he is accused of committing a serious crime, as a result of which the affected party suffered material damage on an especially large scale.
Ulan Japarov is the son of Rakymzhan Japarov, Sadyr Japarov’s cousin.
