Investigator of Internal Affairs Department of Nookat district detained

An investigator of the Department of Internal Affairs of Nookat district was detained for extortion of money from a resident of Osh region. The State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic (SCNS) reported.

Senior lieutenant T.U.T., 26, extorted 30,000 soms for making a decision on refusal to initiate a criminal case based on the materials of the pre-investigation check in relation to the applicant.

The investigator was detained in his office on May 25 when receiving 10,000 soms, who was trying to destroy material evidence.

During the arrest, the detainee lost consciousness; an ambulance was called for him. The man was hospitalized in Nookat district hospital. The detainee’s condition is now stable.

The investigation is currently ongoing and the involvement of other employees in this crime is being established.
