Citizen O.E. is charged under the article «Calls for active disobedience to the lawful demands of representatives of the authorities and mass disorders» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. Press center of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reported.
According to it, the citizen, being an active user of social media, periodically posted provocative publications on Facebook, TikTok and YouTube, containing calls for active disobedience to the legitimate demands of representatives of the authorities and mass disorder.
«In the course of a check, an expert opinion was obtained on the presence in his statements of calls for mass riots, as well as violent seizure of power and change of the constitutional order. Within the framework of the initiated criminal case, the citizen was detained and charged, and afterwards he was placed in the pre-trial detention center of the SCNS,» the state committee informed.
The statement is about the detained journalist Olzhobai Shakir (Olzhobai Egemberdiev in passport — Note of 24.kg news agency).
The journalist Olzhobai Shakir was detained by employees of the State Committee for National Security. He is accused of calling for active disobedience to law enforcement officers, riots and an attempt to seize power.
Earlier, Olzhobai Shakir called on citizens to hold a rally. He intended to organize a protest on August 31. The journalist said that he was against transfer of four resorts in Issyk-Kul region to Uzbekistan.
