The wife of the former external manager of Kumtor Gold Company CJSC Tengiz Bolturuk, Ilmira Alpysbaeva, wrote on her husband’s Facebook page that she went on a hunger strike.
According to her, the reason is that the court remanded Tengiz Bolturuk in custody. «They don’t give him a chance to defend himself. They don’t give him a chance to recover. They don’t give him the opportunity to be with children,» she wrote.
Tengiz Bolturuk himself, in his appeal to Sadyr Japarov, asked for forgiveness for not meeting his expectations and failing to put an end to corruption at Kumtor.
Earlier, Ilmira Alpysbaeva also wrote that her husband was allegedly being tortured. Tengiz Bolturuk himself denied the statement of his wife.
Tengiz Bolturuk and Ryspek Toktogulov were dismissed from all the positions they held. It was reported that the Prosecutor General’s Office began a detailed check. It resulted in three criminal cases with preliminary damage to the state of 1 billion soms. As a result, the former external manager of Kumtor was detained and placed in the remand center of the State Committee for National Security until March 10, 2023. Tengiz Bolturuk himself does not admit his guilt. He stated that all the accusations were false. His lawyer says that the accused is ready to cooperate with the investigation.
