The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and foreign agencies of the Kyrgyz Republic evacuated six more Kyrgyzstanis from the earthquake zone in Turkey. Press service of the Foreign Ministry reported.
They left the city of Gaziantep on a special plane to Tashkent. Upon arrival, the diplomatic mission of the Kyrgyz Republic in Uzbekistan will assist them in returning to their homeland.
Work continues on the evacuation and assistance to citizens in the disaster zone.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs evacuated 22 Kyrgyzstanis.
Two earthquakes of magnitude 7.8 and 7.5 hit southern Turkey on February 6 near Gaziantep city, where more than a million people live. Dozens of aftershocks were registered in Syria, Georgia and other countries.
The Turkish Embassy in Kyrgyzstan announced collection of humanitarian aid. A single deposit account has been opened in Kyrgyzstan to raise funds to help the victims. The number of victims of earthquakes in Turkey and Syria exceeded 20,000 people.
