Deputies of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan will transfer their two-day salary to help victims of the earthquake in Turkey. The proposal was made by the deputy Akylbek Tumonbaev.
He noted that the Turkish authorities always provide support to Kyrgyzstan in all areas.
«They support us politically and build hospitals for us, our citizens study at Turkish universities. I propose to transfer a two-day salary to help the victims of the earthquake to the account at the Turkish Embassy in Kyrgyzstan,» Akylbek Tumonbaev said.
Colleagues supported the initiative.
Two earthquakes of magnitude 7.8 and 7.5 hit southern Turkey on February 6 near Gaziantep city, where more than a million people live. Dozens of aftershocks were registered in Syria, Georgia and other countries.
The Turkish Embassy in Kyrgyzstan announced collection of humanitarian aid. A single deposit account has been opened in Kyrgyzstan to raise funds to help the victims.
According to the latest data, the number of victims in Turkey and Syria exceeded 11,000 people, the number of injured — more than 49,000.
