Chairman of the National Anti-Corruption Committee of the Russian Federation Kirill Kabanov proposed to deprive all immigrants from Central Asian countries of Russian citizenship, if they evade military service. He wrote about this on his Telegram channel.
«As part of the partial mobilization announced by the President of the Russian Federation, we are preparing proposals for new citizens of the Russian Federation who have Russian citizenship for less than 10 years on mandatory military service for a year for people from Central Asian countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Refusal to perform military duty should entail the deprivation of Russian citizenship not only for the person liable for military service, but also for members of his family,» he wrote.
He believes that «the implementation of this initiative will be an adequate response to the official ban on the part of the authorities of the aforementioned countries on the participation of their citizens in the special military operation on a voluntary basis, for which they face criminal punishment in their homeland.»
Earlier, the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Russia issued a message warning Kyrgyzstanis temporarily residing in Russia against participation in armed conflicts on the territory of foreign states and reminded them of criminal liability. In accordance with Article 256 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, participation of citizens of Kyrgyzstan in hostilities on the territory of foreign states is punishable by imprisonment for up to ten years with confiscation of property.
On September 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree declaring partial mobilization in the Russian Federation.
