Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree announcing partial mobilization in the Russian Federation. The document was published on the Kremlin’s website.
It states that military service contracts concluded by military personnel continue to be valid until the end of the partial mobilization period. Transfer to the reserve during the period of mobilization is possible upon reaching the age limit for military service, for health reasons, or by a court decision on imposing a penalty in form of deprivation of liberty.
Russians working for organizations of the military-industrial complex will receive the right to deferment from military conscription for mobilization for the period of work in these organizations.
The Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said in his speech that 300,000 reservists are subject to partial mobilization. At the same time, he estimated the mobilization resource of the Russian Federation at 25 million people.
