Invasion of Kyrgyzstan: 163 injured, 59 killed

As of 9 a.m. on September 19, the total number of victims of the armed conflict at the Kyrgyz-Tajik border admitted to healthcare organizations is 163 people. The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan reports.

During the night, 19 victims turned for medical help to the health care organization of Batken region, 12 of them were sent for outpatient treatment. At least 144 people continue to receive treatment in hospitals, 19 people were sent for the outpatient treatment.

Most of the victims were transferred to healthcare organizations in Bishkek and Osh. Including, 71 victims are in the National Hospital, 8 — in the National Surgical Center, 8 — in the National Mother and Child Welfare Center, 9 — in the Emergency Hospital, 4 — in the Osh Regional Combined Hospital and 2 — in the Osh Interregional Children’s Clinical Hospital.

«The rest receive inpatient treatment in healthcare organizations in Batken region. Everyone is provided with the necessary medical care; blood components, medicines and medical products are available in sufficient quantities,» the Ministry of Health said.

The total number of casualties as a result of the armed conflict in Batken region remains unchanged — 59 people.

Emergency situation has been introduced in Batken region. Shooting began at several sites of the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the morning of September 16. Settlements in Leilek and Batken district came under fire. The Ministry of Health reported 163 victims, 59 people were killed. As a result of the armed conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, residents of seven villages in Batken and Leilek districts, as well as Dzhekendi village in Chon-Alai district of Osh region, left their homes.

By the decree of the President Sadyr Japarov, September 19, 2022 was declared a Day of National Mourning in the Kyrgyz Republic.
