Uzbek border guards are carrying out engineering work to install wire fences on their territory. The Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic informed 24.kg news agency, commenting on the words of MP Yrysbek Atadzhanov.
The site near Arpa-Sai village in Pyldyrak area, Kadamdzhai district of Batken region, is completely delimited.
«The process of border delimitation at the site was completed in 2017. Local residents were informed that the Uzbek side would carry out engineering work on its territory,» the Border Service said.
Earlier, MP Yrysbek Atadzhanov said that the military of Uzbekistan began to dig trenches and install wire fences in Arpa-Sai border village in Batken region.
The total length of the border between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan is 1,378 kilometers. At least 92 percent of the border had been demarcated by 2019.
