Kyrgyzstan will sign an agreement (settlement agreement) with Centerra Gold today. The President of Kyrgyzstan said at the republican meeting of social workers.
According to Sadyr Japarov, disputes with the Canadian company over Kumtor ended in favor of Kyrgyzstan.
«We will sign the agreement today live at 6.30 p.m. The negotiations are ending peacefully, in favor of Kyrgyzstan. You will learn the rest in the evening,» Sadyr Japarov said.
President Sadyr Japarov visited the Kumtor gold mine on January 2 and got acquainted with the activities of Kumtor Gold Company CJSC. He stated that progress had been reached in the negotiation process with the Canadian company and discussion of an amicable agreement was nearing completion. The Canadian company also made a statement, outlining its terms of the agreement. Transfer of the stake in the company owned by Kyrgyzstan to Centerra is among them.
