Temporary restriction on rallies in Bishkek does not apply to all peaceful assemblies. Press service of the City Hall of the capital reported.

In connection with the latest Russian-Ukrainian conflict, rallies in support of one side or another have become more frequent in four districts of the capital.

«However, despite the previously stated goals of the rally, its organizers and participants often use provocative slogans that lead to interethnic hatred, and also affect the national interests of the country,» the statement says.

Taking into account the multinationality of Bishkek, in order to prevent and suppress possible mass riots on an interethnic basis, the district administrations applied to the district courts with a statement on a temporary ban on holding rallies on the Russian-Ukrainian conflict in the period from March 31 to April 30, 2022 inclusive.

Earlier it was reported that the Bishkek courts banned rallies in support of Ukraine or Russia. However, Sadyr Japarov said that he was not against rallies held in the Maxim Gorky park in Bishkek.
